An experienced practitioner of pediatric and adolescent medicine, Dr. Lloyd Takao prioritizes accessibility and service to his patients. He maintains a seven-day-per-week on-call schedule in an effort to avoid sending patients to the emergency room unnecessarily, and he personally performs all services including vaccinations, laceration repair, and simple fracture casting. Dr. Lloyd Takao received his MD from the Medical College of Ohio, after which he completed his internship at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Oakland, California. After a subsequent pediatrics residency at Children's Hospital Oakland, he entered practice with a multi-specialty group nearby. In private practice since 1986, he maintains active staff privileges at Alta Bates-Summit Medical Center and Children's Hospital Oakland. A teaching attending physician at Children's Hospital Oakland as well, Lloyd Takao, MD, also serves on the faculty of the University of California, San Francisco's Foundations of Medical Care program. In addition, he is a preceptor with the UCSF Longitudinal Care Experience program.
